Discussing the road towards goal-oriented networking
On June 24th, Federico Chiariotti, the Technical Coordinator for MAGIC-6G, gave a presentation on the latest developments and the ideas behind the project at the Munich site of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the German national space agency, to an audience of researchers and PhD students.
The technical discussion started from the developments on semantic communications and explored new ideas and principles for a goal-oriented approach for the management of large sensor networks, allowing sensors to obtain clues about the importance of their own information from others’ behavior and using them to improve their coordination.
The active collaboration with dr. Andrea Munari, a renowned researcher on medium access and University of Padova alumnus, is helping expand the vision of the project to new settings, such as massive Internet of Things deployments and satellite networks, and inspiring young researchers at DLR to work in goal-oriented communication.
