MAGIC-6G advocates a paradigm shift towards a new vision of Goal-oriented Networking, where the network and applications running over it are seen as a distributed system of cooperating agents. We hence pursue the vision of 6G as an ecosystem where applications and network elements are co-designed to reach given goals, specified through context-aware interfaces. AI will be integrated throughout the network infrastructure (AI-as-a-Service) to interpret the user’s requests, adapt to the dynamic network constraints, and anticipate the effects and consequences of communication, computation, and control actions, achieving the intent of the user in a scalable, secure, and sustainable manner.
